Duxbury

Duxbury is a desirable coastal community 33 miles south of Boston, first settled by John Alden and Myles Standish in the early 1600’s. The town was a thriving center of shipbuilding until the mid-19th century when ships became too large for the shallow bay. Fortunately, historic homes from earliest days and ship building era still remain. As a rural and summer community Duxbury has blossomed into an upscale suburb of Boston with excellent schools, fine beaches and a diverse range of cultural offerings.
