Kingston

Kingston, originally part of North Plymouth, was first incorporated in 1726. Early industries were iron casting, ship building and woolen mills. Ship “Captain’s Houses” dating back to seafaring days grace the community and the active historical society maintains the Major John Bradford House for public viewing and summer brunches on its lawn. Today Kingston is principally a residential community with a small number of professional fishermen and cranberry growers and many residents who are commuters and enjoy the restored Old Colony rail service to Boston. A 50 acre pond with 200 acres of land offers recreational use for swimming, fishing, camping and hiking..
